Our Values Played Out

Personal, bespoke and sustainable – these are our core values that drive every decision made at Tempus Novo. 

Everything we do as a charity has these three key aspects in mind, but one reigns supreme – sustainability. It is more important now than ever before.  

When we put people into work, we don’t do it just to add another number to our success stories (tick a box). Without sustainability our process wouldn’t work.  

The whole premise of Tempus Novo is to get people into work so that they can form a new life for themselves and move forwards.  

Our partners are selected on the basis they have similar values. They too must want to see their employees prosper and do well. This means for the long term, not the short.  

Clipper PLC are a fantastic example of this. We have now placed well over 100 people into Clipper with several going on to be promoted. Our partnership goes from strength to strength and mainly because they are an “ethical” company that works hard to look after their staff. 

Although we always match the person to the job, we build in 6-month support from their caseworker to ensure that their employment runs smoothly. It gives the employer an extension to their HR team and has proved invaluable. 

This support safety net enables our service users to reintegrate and flourish and this means that often the work they do is to a high standard.   

Our service-users have told us that the biggest threat to their longevity in work is if their confidence is knocked. Having the caseworker there to mentor / advise is priceless.  

Richard Welsh, an ex-service-user, told us: “Through TN, your employer knows your past before you get there, so when you get there, you’re not avoiding it. Its already known. So, I felt a lot more comfortable.” 

Another service-user, Chris said: “The support from Tempus gave me confidence and because of that, I’ve been promoted to team-leader at Clipper in only 6 months and I am now aiming for another promotion.” 

Both of these men have now proven themselves within their parent companies and look forward to exciting futures.  

Our outlook is positive despite the Covid-19 outbreak. In fact, we have new enquiries from companies looking for hard working and loyal employees – something we specialise in supplying.
