Tempus Novo Invited to Spend the Night at Windsor Castle!

Tempus Novo swapped Her Majesty’s Armley Prison for one of her more homely surroundings in Windsor Castle last month to attend the “St George’s Windsor Castle Consultation on the Rehabilitation of Offenders”.

Hosted by the High Sheriff of Berkshire Graham Barker, and chaired by CEO of the Forward Trust Mike Trace, a diverse group of experts gathered at Windsor Castle on 4th and 5th of December 2018 to discuss national strategy and local potential for supporting the rehabilitation of offenders, and in particular to find ways of helping ex-offenders into employment.

This broad group of academics, employers, policy makers and charities worked over the two days to come up with specific proposals that could improve policy, and local implementation. The high level of engagement and sophistication of the debate was impressive with real and diverse appreciation of the current opportunities and challenges.

Steve and Val were both privileged to attend alongside many respected delegates from around the UK. One of the main aims of the event was to share initiatives and best practises with the objective to build relationships with partners.

Steve commented “We made some important contacts and the debate greatly helped us to understand the bigger picture from MOJ / Government. Major action point we brought from the event was to spend more time on researching, planning CJS landscape and network more with key stakeholders. 2019 looks really positive for Tempus Novo and our aspirations, London being top of the list! Onwards and Upwards”
