We operate two unique models:
Community Model
This is where ex-offenders are referred to Tempus Novo by probation officers and other stakeholders: DWP /Prisons/ Hostels/Police.
We offer employment opportunities to people in the community who have criminal records. These people may not necessarily have been to prison but find barriers into employment because of their criminal records.
Referrals for these people come from a variety of places, including Probation, DWP, Prisons, Police and other organisations. We invite those referred in for an assessment and determine whether they are ‘work ready’ through our thorough assessment process. All candidates for employment will have all the required documents including CV, proof of ID, National Insurance number and bank accounts.
A caseworker will then support both the employer and the service-user for 12 months.
ROTL Model
This is where we place serving prisoners in Category D prisons into jobs.
Tempus Novo works with serving prisoners in Category D prisons (low risk) who attend work and then return to prison after their shift has finished. This can be for anything between 6 months and 3 years.
Extensive multi-agency risk assessments are completed before a serving prisoner can be granted ROTL (release on temporary license) and given permission to attend work. We then use our assessment process to determine whether a candidate is ‘work ready’.
A caseworker is assigned to each prisoner and we support them into finding a suitable position.
This caseworker will then continue to support both prisoner and employer for a 12-month period.
Research has demonstrated that securing sustainable employment for an offender reduces the probability of re-offending by half.
